Earlier this month, Lizzie and I spent a few days working in the German capital. It was great to visit Fourth Day’s office and explore the city in our free time. Berlin is an amazing place and there are so many things that remind me of Manchester – from the vibrant art scene to the serious coffee culture. The rainy weather that greeted us made the city feel like a home from home, but it wasn’t long before blue skies made an appearance.
It was the perfect opportunity to spend time with our client Snom. After a productive planning session at their HQ, we spent the evening at the Gendarmenmarkt Christmas markets, strolling artisan traders while enjoying a mug of glühwein! If you’re visiting Berlin over the festive period, make sure the markets are on your list of things to do.
Just like Manchester, there’s a working buzz about the city and the number of co-working spaces is testament to this. We decided to spend one of our days at St Oberholz, a cosy little co-working and café space right next to Rosenthaler Platz station. There’s great Wi-Fi connection, lots of charging ports and, most importantly, the coffee is top notch. If you’re working in Berlin and looking for a place to set up base, St Oberholz is definitely one to check out.
One of the highlights of our trip was visiting Berlin during the festive period. There was a brilliant atmosphere around the city and I returned to the UK armed with Christmas spirit.
Are you visiting Berlin anytime soon? We’d love to hear about your favourite co-working spots or where your go-to place is for the best cup of coffee!
