O ver the past four years, Quatrieme Jour has helped to raise awareness of EMERGING Valley, an annual summit held in Marseille which connects the African and European tech ecosystems.
The summit aims to create digital alliances and foster investment between the two continents, with a strong focus placed on African innovation and entrepreneurship. It attracts high-growth startups, investors and policymakers. In 2024, over 100 startups and 150 speakers participated in around 30 sessions.
Our approach
For each edition of the summit, we built a tailored communications plan based around several key components. These included:
- News announcements: drafting and distributing press releases, securing interviews and managing media outreach
- Thought leadership: producing opinion articles tied to the summit’s core themes
- Content amplification: sourcing and sharing testimonials from participating startups
- Media partnerships: establishing relationships with national and local press in France and Africa
We also organised press trips, welcoming an average of 10-30 journalists to the summit, including international media. These trips played a big role in boosting the event’s visibility, allowing journalists to experience it firsthand and produce in-depth articles that were shared with a global audience.
